BARE, INC.’s first short film stages a ritual of communal bread-breaking, where texture, sound, and fracture elevate food into spectacle.
The project frames bread as both sustenance and broadcast, with communion shaping the film’s rhythm. A fixed camera underscores the act, culminating in an image of joyous consumption. As BARE, INC.’s first branding film, it positions media itself as nourishment. The score, later released on the Music for Ads 001 album, was developed fully in-house.
I directed the film alongside Patrick White, shaping the ritual into a sensorial experience that blurs commercial and ceremonial space. I oversaw cinematography choices to emphasize texture and composed the original score.
My contributions ensured the project functioned both as a short film and as a branded provocation, grounding its abstract concept in tangible detail. Joseph Stafford and Joe Ramirez assisted production and and also stood in as the on-screen talent.
